Professional training aimed at producers, directors and distributors. Activity for previously registered and selected professionals.

International Co-Production, with Daniel Pech (Multiverso Produções e Retrato Filmes)

International Funds, with Ana Marques (Portugal Film Commission)

This workshop explored the universe of financing opportunities for Brazilian projects — whether majority or minority co-productions, with a special focus on partnerships between Portugal and Brazil. The session provided a clear overview of the different types of support available, demystifying the possible paths to bring projects to life. And since the future of audiovisual also depends on environmental responsibility, we examined financing strategies that encourage more sustainable production practices. A valuable opportunity for those interested in aligning economic viability, creative impact, and sustainability standards.

Green Filmmaking, with Marilha Naccari (Panvision)

An interactive workshop designed for producers and other audiovisual professionals interested in understanding and applying practices aligned with sustainable development in their productions. Starting with a critical reflection on the term ‘green filming,’ the session provided a brief historical overview, addressing the tension between economic growth and environmental preservation up to the diplomatic consolidation of the sustainable development concept. Based on the TBL model (economic, social, and environmental), recent transition approaches, and the ECOVISION methodologies, participants were invited to work with an ongoing project to draft a commitment statement with sustainable goals applicable to their productions.

Accessibility in Film Productions, with Flavia Mentone (Reponto) and Adauto Caramano (2 Mil Mãos)

This workshop offered both a practical and conceptual overview of how to make works more accessible. It covered disability literacy, stages of inclusion, key terms and concepts, as well as inclusive practices and creative solutions. Led by Flávia Mentone and Adauto Caramano, participants were introduced to tools, resources, and methodologies essential for expanding access to diverse audiences in audiovisual and cultural productions.

International Sales for Films: A Practical Guide, with Florencia Gasparini (Reel Suspects)

The workshop offered a practical introduction to international feature film sales, designed for Latin American filmmakers and producers: how and when to connect with sales agents, how to position a film in the global market, and what to expect once the film is ready for release. The workshop covered key concepts, strategies, and concrete tools to help participants navigate festivals, markets, and distribution opportunities.

Mastering the Pitch: Strategies for Selling Your Project, with Anna Huth (Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School and Creative Media Europe)

Whether in a co-production market, in meetings during festivals, or when presenting a project to potential partners, the way a story is told can determine its future. This workshop taught participants how to pitch with clarity, confidence, and personality.
In this hands-on six-hour workshop, the ideal pitch was presented, exploring body language, personal motivation, teaser strategies, and live pitching practice in a safe and supportive environment.

The participants explored:

  • The 5-step pitch structure
  • What makes a pitch memorable: clarity, authenticity, visual language
  • Como expressar a motivação, visão e voz
  • The role of body language and tone during delivery
  • Strategic use of teasers, visual metaphors, and emotional hooks
  • How to manage the Q&A and stay grounded

The workshop era was aimed at early- and mid-career filmmakers preparing for labs, markets, and festivals.

Workshop aimed at developing audience engagement strategies for feature films, with Nicolò Gallio, consultant at TorinoFilmLab.

Nicolò Gallio's session
The masterclass examined the dual challenge currently faced by film marketing and audience design, as cognitive biases and stereotypes about audiences collide with the algorithmic assumptions embedded in AI tools and technologies such as chatbots and Large Language Models — and what we can do to identify them.

Sile Culley's session
In today’s competitive and dynamic film landscape, it is essential to understand the audience from the earliest stages of a project. This masterclass offered producers a fundamental introduction to Audience Design and its practical application when working with different stakeholders across the entire film value chain.

The masterclass was followed by a conversation around an insightful case study with Nicolò Gallio, Audience Design and Marketing consultant, who shared his experiences from a recent collaboration on the Brazilian feature film A Margem do Rio.

For feature film projects in post production stage.

In addition to the activities aimed at participants enrolled in the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop (call above), it was also possible to register projects in the finalization phase in the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop for Projects. The selected projects were used as case studies during the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop, where participants developed strategies to optimize the sales and distribution potential of the films under the guidance of international tutors.

At the end of the workshop, a report containing a complete audience design strategy was prepared and delivered to the proposer of the selected project.

It was conducted by TorinoFilmLab, an international audiovisual laboratory and center that supports authors and talents from all over the world, especially professionals working on their first and second fiction films, with training, development, financing and networking activities.
